Default Missing Hard Drive

I have 2 x 500gb Western Digital Hard drives one recently gave up the goat so I returned it under warranty a few days later the new drive arrived and I installed it I can see this drive in the Bios and also in device manager but I can't see it in My Computer any ideas? I am using Windows Vista Utimate 64bit edition.

Have you created a partition and formatted it yet? If it's just unallocated space then it won't show under My Computer.

If not then you can do so by going to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management. Then click on the new drive, and either create a new partition or format it.
