Hello,
Today I received a new Mini PCI Card (802.11g/b) from NewEgg for my Compaq Presario 2100 (4 yrs old). All the reviews said that it worked right out of the box. Unfortunately, I didn't have a clue what the operating requirements section was saying, so I took the reviews at face value and purchased. I plugged it in and.....and....and....not a dang thing! I called the card's tech line and apparently, this specific card is made only for an IPTV unit, not a laptop, and the company does not even make them for laptops. Well, it worked for others, so it might still work for me, but their's worked right out of the box. I guess my question/issue is that I need to find some sort of generic driver (if this is possible) to install that will recognize the card. Any suggestions? Thank you for your non-sarcastic reply, or just move on. Here is the URL for the card on NewEgg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833345002 |

Upon further investigation I realized that HP has many drivers for all sorts of stuff on their support website. Go to your laptop's manufacturer support site if you have similar issues.
