here's my current psu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182021
I'm getting a Sapphire HD3870 512mb gddr4 , and probably a new motherboard soon. with my current rig will it run? i also will end up upgrading ram and cpu within the month (a 5400+ and some nice 2g ddr800/1066 prolly)

Get a better PSU.
By the way, if you plan to get new CPU + Mobo + RAM, You'd better go for intel, they are better set up than AMD currently.

thanks, do you think the PSU will hold off a week or so till my next check?
And if you'll see my thread on my CPU selection in the CPU section fo the forum that'd be great.
