Default Lexmark Z23 help

I have donated a printer and am trying to get it work. It is an older Lexmark Z23 and the computer I am trying to install it on is a newer Intel Mac Mini running 10.4. So far I have tried going to the Lexmark website and downloading the drivers. It says the drivers are for Mac OS 10.1 and above. But, it fails to install. Also if I manually go into the system preferences the printer pops up but does not want to install. Any suggestions?

See if you can get any from www.download.com or www.driverguide.com . But, if the main website for Lexmark doesn't have a compatible one, that usually means there really isn't anything that will work.

I don't believe that printer is compatible but even so I wouldn't use it. If you already have ink that's fine, use it all up but don't by replacement ink. It costs $50-$60 for a set of ink with terrible page yield and bad quality. You can get the HP Photosmart 4280 for about $60 if you find it on sale and that's compatible with mac and is a lot better all in one machine or the HP 5280 ($100 this week at officemax reg $129). Be a lot cheaper because you get better page yield on the ink.

^^ Not to mention there are high-yield cartridges that have 4x the ink for only 2x the price!
