Default Problem with my friends modem

Hi there, my friend keeps experiencing a problem with his modem but doesn't know what it could be everytime a message comes up saying

"There is a problem, ur modem seems to be blocked from connectivity"

could anyone help please?

it also ask's if the modem is switched on or off...

So he / she doesn't get any internet... it loses the connection????

correct drivers installed on the operating system?

Maybe there is no USB or Ethernet connection to the computer, try replacing the CAT5 [initially a blue cable, but so many standards exist] to see if the connection from the modem to the machine is the problem.

I don't thinkn you would need drivers..... try a different cable though....

Just quickly thought of something. I remember Anti-Virus blocking my modem from connectivity, it had something to do with the already installed firewall on the modem and the personal firewall that comes pre built into the Anti-Virus application.

Check that this may be the problem, by turning off the firewall within the AV application.

Drivers may need to be installed, depending on the age of the modem and whether or not the user is connecting the modem to their local computer via a USB cable.
