8800gt is better than the 9600gt.

what res are you running on? if it's not too big, get a 512mb instead.

I can play crysis on pretty high settings with a single 3870 (512Mb) already. at 1680x1050 resolution. I dont think you'll have any problems/trouble with a 512mb card to be honest (ran UT3 demo maxed out easy on my 2 7800gtx's already... granted those cards wern't DX10, but still, it kinda show's how easy to run it is )

well basically the 8800gt is definately worth it if you can afford it...
but the 9600gt is a great card too...
aim for a 512mb one though.
1gb isnt really that necessary.
