Not sure if anyone had saw this before but I though it was cool so here it is...

3 man go into a motel. The man behind the desk said the room is $30
So each man paid $10 and went to the room.

A while later the man behind the desk realized the room was only $25, So he sent the bellboy to the 3 buys’ room with $5

On the way, the bellboy couldn’t figure out how to split $5 evenly between 3 men, so he gave each man a $1 and kept the other $2 for himself

This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which is a total of $27.
Add the $2 that the bellboy kept =$29

Where is the other dollar?

Yes it's the way they calculated it that is wrong.

They all pay 10$, 30$.

The guy at the counter gives 5$ back from the 30$ they all gave.
It says they paid 9$ but 25/3= 8.33333$. It's not the way to calculate it.

This is the way I look at it. If the bloke behind the desk just kept has mouth shut none of that would have happened, lol.

ive highlighted where the problem arrises. You cant add the money of the belly boy as that is backwards math
it should read
the men paid $9 each so that equals $27, of which $2 went to the bell boy leaving $25 for the hotel

heard this one when i was a kid...its quite good and did take me a while to figure it out.

The guy realized it was only 25$. That means they should have paid 25/3=8.333$ each. By giving 5 dollars back, he is making them pay for a 28.3$ room (30-(5/3)) room.

yeah, ignore the first part of the scenario and focus on the end. end is that the hotel cost $25, so they paid $9 each and tipped the bellboy $2 of that. that is 27 - 2 = 25. the 30 part is really unnecessary to even know honestly.

It may have been once a hard riddle, I heard this one like 3-4 years ago and I knew the answer already.
It's really easy once you realize the answer, but it's tricky especially when you just hear the question once ( this way, you can read it as much as you can and concentrate to it ).

Lol dude, sorry but the way I explained made what they paid wrong, and I was right sorry. What APJ showes is that it not calculated well at then end.
