Default Added new stick of RAM-A question though

My computer which is less than 2 years old came with Kingston RAM-512MB-533MHz-DDR2. Last Jan the memory went bad and a new stick was installed. The empty box they gave me was for the Kingston memory stick. Now I wanted to double my memory by adding a new 512MB stick. I ordered the exact stick(Kingston)because I read where you don't want to mix brands. Well when I opened the computer I noticed the installed stick was a "Rendition" brand. The Rendition spec's are the same as the new Kingston(512MB-PC2-4200-533MHz-DDR2)but was wondering if i'm okay by using 2 different makes of RAM? I installed it and everything is running fine and my computer shows the extra RAM. Am I OK? Thanks!

Im sure in most cases installing two different makes of RAM will cause no harm watsoever. But if and when possible it is probably a good idea to avoid it
