Default 2008 Sonata...to purchase or not...

So I've been looking into the Hyundai Sonata for some time. I really wanted to get one after I graduated from college (which should be this December) but I also wanted to get the last model before the new ones come out (such as the redesigned 2009's). Today I went to check out the local selection and I found this beauty. 2008, under 50 miles on the odometer, V6, premium sound, sun roof, cloth interior (preference), no climate control (preference), black (LOVE it). Sticker price was just under $24,000. I got them down to $18,955. After my down payment and everything, I'd basically be looking at $225 monthly payments for 2 years.

Now if I had a steady job, I'd jump all over this car. My main concern is I DON'T have a job and don't want to throw out all my money right away. Mom says to do it and I should be covered by the time I get out to school. Apparently they'd even detoured the payments for 90 days in that monthly estimate. So what do you guys think? Good car? Good price?

Looks nice. Hyundai makes some quality vehicles, I say go for it. $225 for 2 years isn't a bad payment either.

Speaking if Hyundai, (Today in history - presented by Hyundai on the history channel)
Ronald Regan died four years ago today (June 11, 2008).

Anyway:

It is a good car, but unless you REALLY need a new car, I'd wait till you get a job. If you don't have a car however, then I'd get it now.

Otherwise, wait.

Yes, buy it! I'm looking at grabbing one myself actually. They are sooo sexy! The company has come a LONG way in 13 years.

I saw one of those the other day and the styling is nice. Also the quality looks good, Korean quality has improved. I still prefer Toyota for reliability, parts, resale, fuel economy, etc.
Having said that, I would never borrow to buy a car, it is a depreciating asset. I would just buy what car I can afford with the money I have.

Thanks for those who replied. Before I get to all my responses, I'll say I'm going back sometime today to make one final offer. If all goes well, I'll probably have the car by Friday.

m0nk3ys1ms - I've not looked into many other cars, but the quality of this one will be difficult to match. Honestly, I'd have to say it rivals that of my grandparents Acura

voyagerfan99 - Yeah, I like to hear opinions like this... Honestly, I don't NEED a new car, but lets face it. My Cherokee's 15 years old. I am going to keep it (unlicensed for now) but to continue driving it, I may begin to worry about its reliability.

imsati - Have you ever seen the Sonata SXi concept? I wish I could get one like that! But I guess this one's not too far off...

jnskyliner34 - Yes, I had to get the V6, which only comes in dual exhausts (yummy ). I also had to get one with a spoiler, and it also comes with a sunroof (which I'll never use )

ian - I've liked these ever since the new styling came out. Everything I've read has talked about top notch quality, and I wasn't disappointed while behind the wheel I do have the money to pay for it and will only be financing a couple thousand. The last deal they offered me before leaving.

i'd have to disagree with that. honda's are more reliable than toyota and this is coming from a guy who has both. honda's get a bit better fuel mileage as of the newer civic vs corolla comparision. my corolla has been a pain in the arse since the first day i bought it, and it was brand new!
