Default Linksys Wireless WRT54G Router Problem

My Linksys router likes to reboot it self on its own. what happens is the lights on the router act as if someone unplugged the router and plugged it back in. when this happens, I loose my internet connection for a few moments before it comes back. Why does it reboot it self every now and then for no reason? I have replaced the AC Adapter and it did not help. I also returned it to the store and got a new one, Still does it with this one. Can any one help? Thanks in advance!

Check to ensure that what ever it's plugged into is getting constant power, if it's plugged into a fualty surge protector then that could be giving it intermitent power. In addition check to make sure nothing is bumping the reset button in the back, i'm not sure exactly where it is or that it looks like on that model but it's usually a small little button that is hidden somewhere on the back (usually in a hole).

I have checked it all.. I have took the router back to the store and got a new one, and it still happens... The router has open air flow, is in a room with AC on and when i feel the router its a little warm, not bad at all....... Whats the problem? I have flashed the firmware again... No help.... This is driving me crazy...

the linksys routers have problems with p2p due to many connections at one time. do you torrent?

another possiblity is malware making many outbound/inbound connections everytime it's activated.

I had a Linksys router and running torrents used to brick it, so i got a netgear router and that works great.
