this thought may seem a little crazy, but it will still be asked. my dell was attacked with spyware. had the reciever for my keyboard and mouse in the computer the whole time. got a new computer, and plugged it in, and it was soon infected with the same spyware. this is the question, is it possible for the virus to "stick" with the receiver and infect the new computer? that and my flash drive, which hadnt been plugged into my dell for like a week before the virus, were the only things that had been plugged into the new laptop.

Unless it contained a hidden memory module (it doesn't), then there is no way this is possible.

well i am still puzzled by this. i got the new computer, and only plugged in my flash drive, which is not infected, it has been plugged into a few computers since the attack. and the receiver. and some are saying the internet could of given me it again, but it would of hit other computers than just mine if that was the case, i was using a wireless router.

Read some articles about factory workers inadvertly infecting computers while doing quality assurance testing. Don't know if this applies to your puter but would contact manufactor.

Well it would go through the router and onto the other computers, but we can fix your problem and may be able to stop it before it get's to the other computers, if it is a network virus!
