When i try to read small words and there jagged like they are i feel as if im 75 years old and Need a magnifying glass they also look blurry. any tips For improving this? i just want Smooth none jagged/blurry font.

I had similiar problems when I got my new pc, it has a 22 inch LCD so what I did was go to the display options and change the resolution to a lower setting. I don't know what to tell you about the brightness except to keep on trying to adjust it until it looks right.

The resolution should be set at your monitor's native resolution.

Did you set the resolution to it's native? If it's not at the correct resolution then text and sharp edges will look horrible.

As others said, unless you use your monitors native resolution, you're not going to get great results. Also, if you're limited to VGA and not DVI, you'll probably loose some quality there. I've found monitors with DVI tend to have sharper pictures, sometimes tremendously sharper than those with onlg VGA. I've actually been using LCDs for quite a while now and I'd never go back to CRTs. Not unless I needed some super high resolution or something.
