Default What printer?

I am going to purchase a new all in one printer. My choices are a Brother DCP-110C which has four different ink cartridges. So, I do not know if that is a good choice or not. The second choice is a Lexmark X3430. The Lexmark is the cheapest, but I am concerned because it only had one ink cartridge. So, I would have to share both black and color off the same cartridge. But, I have shared one cartridge in the past with my Lexmark Z23 and it worked good. What should I do?

Lexmark and others appear cheap and the best buy. They will make it up on the purchase of your cartridge. I always liked HP. They have several models. One thing though.....look at the capacity of the cartridge (ink). just because its a good deal does not mean its the best choice. If your interested in resolution then HP and all work well. though i email pictures to Kodak and walmart. to print, anyway ya look at it, its expensive. My only other suggestion is if the cheaper models like Lexmark and you were interested in re-inking your self and printing lots of color, then make sure a ink kit is available. a quick google will work. Im only trying to say that now most all print well. Some a lot faster.

Really? I heard when you put a new cartridge in it does not recognize it. Have you ever had any problems? How often do you have to replace the ink?

No problems at all, depends how often you using the printer and if it is colour or not..... we replace 1 a month or so but mum does a lot of printering for work etc.... so it depends on how often you use the printer...

Yeah. Since it is the summer I do not have to do any reports or anything. But, come the school year I am really dependent on my printer. I am going to print out about 5-7 pgs. a day. I am also going to print out things mostly that are black and white. On a rough estimate how often will I probably have to replace a cartridge. Is it annoying to have 4 different cartridges? Also, do you use 3rd party ink cartridges?

Still am deciding between both. Does anybody have 4 different cartridges in their printer? Is it a pain to replace all of them? I called brother and they said that the ink goes about 400-500 pgs. without being replaced.

Both of those are terrible printers. If you're strapped for cash check out some of these on ebay, you'll get a good deal I saw some shipped around $20 when I did a search. To answer your question about the 4 cartridges, it's not too bad but with a brother if you run out of one color cartridge the machine will shut down and you can't even print black. With a single cartridge system, it sucks because if you run out of color you're screwed and can't print. I also have to laugh at the page yield they quoted you. 200-300 pages, brothers are among the worst. I sell these everyday at work and trust me look at HP or Canon for everyday use and epson only if you have to have pictures that won't run and this doesn't seem to be the case.

HP Photosmart C4280
HP Photosmart C4385
Hp Photosmart C4180
Hp Photosmart C3180

They're all very similar printers and all discontinued like the ones you're looking at so you should be able to get them cheap. I seen some about $20 shipped on ebay.

Both of the printers you have picked out are terrible quality machines that will cost you more in ink and very well could break down on you.
