wat is over clocking exactly. and how can it be done

Overclocking is basically changing multiple things on your processor such as FSB, Voltage, and Multiplier to make your processor faster. Most of these changes are done in your bios. But, if you have a manufactured pc (like hp, dell, acer) then the bios is locked by the manufacture. Then, you must over-clock by using small apps/utilities inside of windows itself.

^^ It's not changing things on the processor, it's changing the settings on the motherboard (for CPU overclocking), or in the software for the video card (for GPU overclocking). Nothing is physically altered.

overclocking is basically running something out of spec, if you really wanted to im sure you could overclock your toaster, and sorry to thread jack, but what overclocking apps are there that are free, or from asus?
