I am trying to burn a data disc of 13 t.v. episodes so I can watch them on my divx/xvid compatible standalone dvd player. However one of these files is in mpeg-4 format and cannot be read by my player.(The other 12 are avi's.) Can someone please recommend a freeware or open source program that can easily (one click!) convert this file to a format that can be read by my standalone once burned as data?
I have tried WinAVI Video Converter and a host of other evaluation versions with no usable results. Thank you.

Well.... perhaps I was not clear about the FREE aspect of my request. You see, I don't have the ability to purchase software online. Other than trying my luck with pirated *cough* programs, my only avenue is freeware.
Thank you for the effort Gamemaster, but both of the links that you provided lead to for sale apps with VERY limited demos. I've already wasted about 6hours going down that road. Oh well, back to a futile Google search!

Nothing to do with the OP's question but that little man running around in his avatar drives me up the wall.

Freewares are rare, for Christ sake. I don't like your attitude, especially when asking TFT to help you.
You are such a noob that you can't even find a program over the Internet (google, torrents...) and you still feel OK to post this and this.
