my 8800gt wont let me change the sharpness either, but i think its the monitor. try adjusting the contrast in the nvidia control panel, and if that doesnt help try adjusting the sharpness manually from the monitors control panel

sharpen the picture? you mean change the resolution? what OS are you on? what monitor do you have?

sharpen the picture refers to changing the focus of the image to eliminate blurriness, like changing the focus of binocular lenses so you can see clearer for example. the OS is irrelevant.

I get this sometimes when I change the drivers for my video card...

Make sure the refresh rate in nVidia Control panel is set the same as your monitor, in my case, both are set to 75Mhz. Also, If your monitor has it, Just push the Auto Adjust too.

Hope it helps.

Ummm... you don't have to "focus" the image on a monitor...

And I do have to say that sometimes display problems ARE related to the OS you're running.

You don't say if your'e running the monitor at it's native resolution, if it's not then it could well be blurred assuming it's a TFT monitor.

If it's a CRT then it's own menu should handle it.

i'm running vista home premium 32bit, at 1680x1050 native resolution at 60hz. my monitor does not have it's own sharpness adjuster so therefore i can't adjust it that way. it does have a focus adjuster, but it barely makes any difference. and when i say sharpness, yes i am referring to the option in the nvidia control panel, not my resolution. everything on my computer is exactly as it was with my 7900, so i have no clue what would even be causing this :/

would i need to upgrade windows or directx or something?

now that i just came home and turned on my computer, my monitor was set to 1440x900. it won't let me change it to 1680x1050 either, only 1600x1200
