xbox360 or ps3???

I have a wii and am looking at a 360 or a ps3 which would you recommend? any reason?

i like both but my choice would be the ps3 since online play is free and the ps3 lifetime might be much longer than the 360.

and it also comes down on which console exclusive games you're after.

i voted 360 because of better game selection, better pricing. the fact that its not a playstation 3 or should i call it playstation 2.1. yeah xbox live isnt free but i think its worth it, great people online... except for your halo extremists.

Xbox Live isn't free for a reason, it's perfect, and perfection has its price.

It works flawlessly about 99.7% of the time, it's an excellent feature.

I think that this is one of those things where its sorta a matter of predicting the future.

Currently, I'd say the 360 is a better buy cause of xbox live, better games etc (everything stated above). The reason I'd go for the ps3 is because it has potential that the 360 doesnt. It has more powerful hardware + bluray. Who knows how long/if ever games will take advantage of this technology but when/if they do, the PS3 will pull ahead.

ps3. my friend is returning his 360 for a ps3 b/c of red ring of death...he only had it for a few months.
