Hey guys could anyone tell me what the real life performance difference is between the 754 socket and thw 939 socket. The 754 has 800Mhz HT and the 939 has 1000Mhz HT. Thanx

they are probably pretty comparable, i would say the bus speed of the 939 would make it faster though, i cant say by how much, and the fact that 939 supports dual-channel memory is also a plus, especially with that high bus speed...and ive heard that 754 is being discontinued, but i have never seen it confirmed, so i say go with 939.

i have 754, yeh its nice and fast with 1 ram chip - i would go 939 though, esp as it will support newer tech, such as dual core. by the time they are out proper cheap i'll just upgrade my mobo.
