Now most of us here in my dept are logged onto a domain.
To make their lives easy and avoid complaints, when i migrated them i did a user account switch. Let's say "Patrick" was the name use locally and "PatrickV" is the new name your loggin in with (domain). For me to keep the desktop and everything like favorites, recent documents, frequently typed address in MSO, i just rename "PatrickV" to "Patrick" and vice versa. This works flawlessly... but now to my question. can the same be done if am removing a user from the domain ? the profile switch ? because some people just want their desktop ad whatsoever to be like it was. any ideas ? Their old local account is pretty much useless now cause it's outdated !!

Do you keep the profiles saved locally or do you store them on a fileserver on the network?
anyways, it probably should work. If it doesn't i'd create a new account (local of course) and copy the content they want from the old account to the new one.

i know it backs up data like outlook express accounts, mail adressbooks and stuff.
I'm not to sure about the recently typed adresses. But you can back up a lot using that program.
