Default 8600GT or 8600GTS or 8500GT?

ok. going for a budget card for my POS.... time to upgrade from the old ATI

and how do i know if my mobo can take a pci express slot? ie, if its compatible with these cards?

What games do you intend to play? and what is your max budget?

out of those two...the 8600GT,but dont go with a card just because it has 1Gb of memory.
