Hi,
Hosting a website is different from designing it.
Are you talking about hosting your website, or are you talking about hosting it to a domain?

once you have a domain name and have designed your site you will need someone to host it. to put it on their server so when someone types in your domain name they can see your site.

Francisck is right.
After you design your website(using plain HTML, Dreamweaver, or Frontpage), you have to then, upload your files to a free server such as FreeServers or host on a unique domain.
The traffic on your website depends on your Google/Search Engine page ranking.
You can hike your ranking by editing the <meta> tags in your webpages.
Google "meta" tags to find out more about it.
