I am a Window XP user trying to use System Restore. I've tried several times and once I log in, I get the error message "System Restore Incomplete". I was researching how to fix this problem and every website I came upon suggested I turn off my AntiVirus. Well I did that and I still cannot use System Restore. I use Avast! AntiVirus. My System Restore is ON, I have several restore spots, I've tried doing System Restore in Safe Mode. I've even done a report that was suggested to me on Yahoo! Anwers and that didn't help.
I'm starting to get up tight over this issue.

Are you able to view your desktop?
If so, then try creating a new restore point and restoring your system to the new restore point

Surely if he creates a new restore point NOW, then it will restore him to the same problem!!
If XP setup disc is available, I would be inclined to run sfc /scannow to verify system files

Hi, not neccessarily.
It may help clear the OP clear the Incomplete System Restore(which I don't think will bring back the same problem). I thought along your lines, and then adopted this perspective. Just a hunch.
