Default Hard Drive Error

When I tried to make a PC out of my old computer parts, after creating a new partition and formating it, when its supposed to go to the OS install it says "Error loading operating system" . Im wondering, did my hard drive just crap out, because i was using it for 2 days in my new rig before putting it back in my old rig.

How are you trying to install the OS? Also, What did you use to partition and format the Drive? -an Install CD or third-party application?

Its IDE but when I made my current rig I used that old drive from my older computer but then I bought a new SATA drive and I wanted to put the IDE one back, in the old computer. So it was completely fine until I tried to put it back
