Default Macbook on gaming

Okay for the macbooks I planned on playing some gaming but not intensely. whether it was the 2.0-2.4 ghz macbook could you play games such as warcraft 3 (dota) or the new upcoming starcraft 2 on regular graphics fine with good internet? For dota does anyone play dota on their macbooks and does it run smooth enough? And last question will your computer run slower if you have vista and mac os installed.

MacBook Pro, then yes (has the 8600). If it's just the MacBook which has integrated video, then no.

How does X3100 compare to discrete graphics? My family comp has X3100 and it handles the Vista Aero fine, but the 3D screensaver lags pretty badly.

If you want to hardcore game, get a pc. If you are used to the mac environment and want to game a little, get a macbook pro. If you want to play 2-3 year old games, get the other macbooks.

Man, I was a devoted MAC user for a long while. And I hated PC. But now PCs are a lot better now. And I just wanted to let you know that gaming on a mac is going to give you nothing but headaches and heartaches. Granted there are a couple of good tittles on the mac, but you can get the for way cheaper on a windows computer. For example. Battlefield 2142, for mac it cost $40, for PC $20. Also UT2004, $40 for Mac and probably less than $20 bucks on PC now. I just switched less than a month or two ago to PC gaming again. I love it. I still have my Powerbook G4 for school work and surfing the web and iTunes. But my PC is so fun to game on. If you are buying a mac to game, don't. But if you are going to buy a mac for school/work and an occasional video game or two, then go ahead.

Dude, the X3100 is integrated. I have that on my 2.16GHz MacBook and Acer laptop, it sucks! You're lucky if you can play Age of Empires II and Midtown Madness 2 on high settings.

There is no way he can play those newer games.
