Running Hot
Hey guys, now that it is summer, i idle around 43 and load around 68. is this bad? What can i do to decrease temps other than get a new heatsink?

you can try removing the cooler and re applying thermal paste

would it really help? i used to idle at 37c.

no, it probably wont help a whole lot, but in your situation, neither would a cooler most likely. your stock cooler probably dissipates the heat away from the CPU, but either your case's airflow isnt that great, or the ambient temp in your room is too high

I wouldn't think it would help much, I don't think thermal paste changes at all with use. It just melts then hardens repeatedly.
I would the temps are probably okay, but much hotter than they should be. Try underclocking and lowering the voltage, or you could always upgrade the fans and stuff.

ok, well i will admit i messed with the case fans. i made them all blowing in, except for the exhaust. lol. should i make them all blow out?

nah, you want an air current from one side to the other, or bottom to top or something like that. i have intake in the front, then exhaust at the back on my case.

actually i took out a fan which was actually blowing hot air, and one that was making plain noise, and now im idleing at 38! i think i fixed my problem. ill post back tomorrow. thx for the help.
