Default Cpu temp.

My amd phenom quad core runs at about 60 to 70 degrees idle and under a average load gets up to 100 egrees is this normal? What's a ball park high temperature in degrees farenheit that I should watch out for?

should be idleing around 30C or so and under load around 50C.

Check that the fan is seated on the CPU good and that the fan has no dust in it, also for the other fans clean them out of dust

Is this a program that you're getting the temps from or the BIOS?
Your CPU should have shut down before it hit 100C.
If it's 100F then it's running quite cool and you shouldn't worry about it.
In fact, you might want to check to see if it's running a full clock speed.

ya intels shut down at 75C, i should know mine runs quite hot as well. but 100C is reeeeaaally high, you might want to double check that in your bios.

I know this and I agree, the temps are almost too good.
That's why I said to check the processor speed.
It may be under-clocked.
