Default Computer case. I was told i cant just pick any ol' case

hello i have a dell 8400 desktop and i was told because of how the mobo is installed i cannot just pick any case?? any help would be appreciated.
Any suggested cases would be appreciated as well. I like the alien style cases with neon lighting inside.

most likely you cant get a new case. dell cases use a wired non-standers mounting. trust me that your better off getting a new computer. dell has given me too much problems

I like dell. I have always bought dell computers. I know a dell represenative personally. I'm not wasting my money on a whole new computer unless you want to buy it :-)

you probably need a BTX case

Dells are one of the better manufactured PCs but they are highly proprietary.
To answer your question, you can't swap the internal hardware from your Dell 8400 to a standard ATX (or BTX) case because of Dells unique motherboard mounting system.
Of course, you can do a Google search for some ideas on how to "mod" the Dell case.......

i beg to differ. You did kinda give a huge downside to why they are so bad.

They have inconpadable equitment. there are standerds and if someone does not follow them they are riping you off. i have a lot more but i will keep it at that
