Default Monitor Problems?

I'm not really good with computers, but whenever I turn on my computer, my monitor blanks out and the power button is blinking. I'm pretty sure it's not the connection between the monitor and the computer. Any ideas on what the problem can be? It's really frustrating having to wait for my monitor to decide to work.

Does it blank out immediately or does it show any booting first?

Do you have another monitor you can borrow from someone to test?

It shows it booting but then once it gets to the screen where I have to type in my password, it completely goes blank and the power button just blinks. I'm gonna test it with another monitor today though.

Alright. If you can get that far it shouldn't be the monitor. Have you installed any new software on the computer recently? Updated drivers, or anything of the sort?

Sounds like it is the video card drive that is doing it, boot into safe mode (hit F8 when windows is booting) and uninstall the driver and install the one the card came with.
