this may seem a dumb question, but if i get a motherboard with a FSB of 1600Mhz is it backward compatible with a cpu of a FSB of 1333Mhz
EDIT: also if i get the higher FSB one will i get an advantage if i still use a cpu with 1333Mhz FSB

Yes. Tha rating of the FSB only means how fast it is meant to run at maximum (i.e. without OCing), and will handle any slower CPU alright.
