It was a silver arrowana, and no, there is no exchange policy - it's not like a defective TV. I've been going to the store for years because they specialize in hard-to-find, mid-to-high-end fish. They are very reputable, but due to the nature of their stock, they have a very-strictly-enforced 'no return/refund/exchange' policy due to all the dumbasses who buy one of their fish, thinking that since they have an oscar they know what they're doing

and have no clue how to care for it. I assure you, I've been keeping fish for a long time and don't fall into that category. Could have been a bad specimen, or had a bad feeder while at the store, I'm not sure.

Losing the kind of fish I have is part of the game due to their natures, but when it's a useless passing like this was (as opposed to a territory dispute or one fish exerting his Alpha place among the others) it really just sucks ass hardcore.

I had to mercy kill it to make it's death quick. To me, that's like how most people feel about watching their family dog put to sleep.

at least it wasnt a discus, id hate to see them die, or an angel fish, i get too attached to my fish, thats mainly why i get goldfish but then they live for a while and i get attached and they die and then i get sad =\

Angel fish? Those are cheap!! Heck I had a 11" oscar die on me once. Now that sucked!!

i dont really care about the money, just mainly the personality of the fish, im sure ive spent $140+ just feeding my 2 goldfish over a year, my mom had an oscar once, before it died of hole in the head disease, it was like 14" long and it needed a brick on the cover of the tank to keep it in

It could also be from the stress of the travel.

I had fishes before I left France and there is a way, you must to acclimate the fish to it's new environment. I'm sure you know it (put the bag in the fish tank but do not let it open, so the fish can have a safe look of the tank).

Yeah thats how mine died. It jumped out of the tank. Oscars are expensive to feed.
