The game lags when I record :(

Okay, I bought Fraps a few days ago, made two movies, then when they were done I deleted all the fraps clips too save space, however, when I record now I get around 15 FPS, when I should have 45 - 60, Why is that?

EDIT: I also set fraps too 60 FPS.

record your video to a different HD. If your applications (both the game and the FRAPS) are both reading/writing to the same drive at the same time it will kill your disk I/O performance which is another thing that Vista is criticized for.

try this, open up task manager and set the affinity, 1 core dedicated to the video capture software.

edit: make the same core not dedicated to the game.

Okay, I made fraps run on all my four processors, and moved the "saved clips" directory too a different hard drive, its now working completely lag-free. Thanks for all your help

Okay maybe not lag-free, I didnt really understand what you ment since im quite stupid when it comes too computers. but its def less lag now. Is there any way I can get it too lag even less?
