My wireless mouse and keyboard wont work

Hi,

i have the Microsoft Wireless desktop (USB) set which consists of a Wireless laser mouse 5000 and the Wireless Keyboard 3000.

when using Vista i didnt even had to install any drivers it just worked out of the box but ive gone back to Xp pro today and it doesnt work,ive installed the drivers that come with the set but still noting,even the lights on the reciever are not on like its not getting any power.

im currently using some old crap mouse and keyboard (ps2 connection) thats the only thing that works.
please help

Why did you get rid of Vista?

as much as i loved the looks of vista and how when you plug stuff in it sees what it is and automaticly installs them its just let me down too many times mate.

im fed up with the errors all the time and everytime i updated i seem to get more and more problems.

Ah right, that is odd though. I've been on Vista since Chirstmas, and I've not had any problems with it.

With regards to your keyboard, are you sure they're charged up?

yes mate my batteries are fully charged (Rechargeable)

when i first switch on the pc the recievers lights are on and as soon as the logon screen appears they go off and i get no responce.

its like the power is cut to the reciever as soon as the log on screen appears.

its wierd.

Yeah, that is odd. What about the receiver, is that plugged in correctly?
