Exclamation My CPU has endured these events – Is it still 100%

I bought a P4 3.0 GHz LGA775 CPU, along with all other brand new components to build a computer. After Installation, the computer was booted, but nothing else, no OS installed. I then decided to swap the motherboard, which I ended up doing twice, and finally removing the CPU once again. Then today, I accidentally placed the CPU over a VERY mild magnetic surface. The CPU was inside the plastic container that it comes in, though I did feel a slight magnetic force for half a second before quickly pulling it away. The magnetic surface was my metal PC case.

So has all this decreased the performance of my CPU when it'll finally be placed in use next week?

To recap, the CPU was installed onto motherboards A, booted PC, removed, installed onto motherboard B, booted PC, removed, then endured a magnetic force for half a second.

If the performance was effected in anyway, I'm considering having it replaced by Intel.

Thanks all.

Processors can not be hurt by magnets. They don't work like that... Besides, most things on a computer that are damanged by magnets result in memory loss(IE, magnetic floppy disks)

Wanna bet? Point an electromag at an opertating proc and you wont be too happy with yer onscreen results ... (of course people doing this deserve whatever happens....) hehe

The fact that its an electromagnet means nothing -- you can do the same with a normal magnet. Secondly, its more of a "proof of concept"

it would have to a pretty big and powerful magnet to get the same results as an electromagnet

And this is getting off topic.
