Not sure if this gives you any insiration, but I've just started doing up my room.

Stripped down the walls and ceiling, wiring up the room atm, will make a thread with pics,

This will be my bedroom / Computer room. Going for a modern look. Found a nice modern 3 part picture for my walls, and a rug, 2 uplighters for the walls, Chunky Grey doorframes and windowsills. The window side of the room is going to be on big curtain, hanging off a curved sliding curtain rail mounted on the ceiling, with a transparent white netting behind and some nice design curtains up front. Which will then show a chunky grey coved window.

Taken down all the artex ceiling I had, putting new ceiling up, but adding an angled lowered ceiling around the border on a wooden wood/plasterboard frame. Will have white and coloured striplighting on dimmers behind the frame adding a up/down-lighting glow.

You might pick up a few idea's from that. I'll get a thread going within the next few days

If you're anything like me you'll have a great deal of fun doing your room up, I've just had $180 of wall insulation delivered, been testing all the junction boxes in my room & the wallboards and plaster are apparently arriving on sunday. Its like making a home for you & your comp. A place to relax whilst on the comp

Yea, dark colors make the room appear smaller than it actually is. I would rather use something light, mainly because living(/gaming?) in a dark room would rather depressing. Painting your room in dark colors just sounds so... emo (you'll regret it). It's all this psychological stuff (I think that's what it's called)... go light green/yellow if you want that happy, warm, peaceful feeling Light blue would be nice too, but personally, I would paint my room PINK

you need to take to a nerdy extreme. Make the room look like the inside of a computer. You need a clear floor with cathode tubes to look like circuits on a motherboard. A hard drive bed or couch or w/e you have in there. a power supply desk. And if you have a good amount of money have tube slides going to an outdoor pool that looks like a water cooling reservior. and instead of ceiling fans, giant case fans on the walls and ceiling..... i think you should go for a theme

anymore ideas for this theme would be great haha

Haha, what an awesome theme, far to extravagant. But I'll look into some themes, I may try and copy a LAN Gaming Center or something.

I'll have to work on my office chair, I have PVC piping on the back, to mount two speakers for 5.1.
