Default Gaming Room

I have been thinking about turning a room into a gaming room. I was just thinking of some stuff that should be in the room.

A few questions I have are,
Paint, what colors?
Lighting, what kind/how much?
Speakers, I am thinking for the TV, and possibly PC friendly as well.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Thanks.

Is this just for you, or are you talking about a game room for the family?

Oh, it would be for me, lol.

Its going to be a near future project, so I want to gather all the information and stuff.

Most likely, I'll convert my room into it, so.

Well for paint, I would personally go for a more soothing/inviting/(both) colour, but also a little more on the dark side so it doesn't pull the eyes away from whatever it is you're doing (PC/console gaming).

Lighting, perhaps a dial system so you can control the brightness it gives off (off/dull/normal/bright/etc). Energy efficient would be a plus, too.

As for speakers... well, that's not my area.

Thanks, I'll look around at paint samples or something to narrow it down.

The dial lighting system sounds like a nice idea. I was thinking of having a feature like they do at some LAN centers, where they have main lights, but with they also have a switch that has blue lights or something going around the room, so, something to think about.

Thanks.

Those colours with ambient lighting would work well.

For speakers, I'd get a decent stereo system and then you can just add a coaxial cable for your PC.
