Default external media player harddrives any good?

are this external harddrives any good? Would it be better to just plug my laptop in to the tv instead?

easier to plug your laptop into the TV, and have an external hard drive off that.

ok thanks. I've just been shopping around for a 1tb external harddrive and just come across that but if it easy to plug laptop in i'll just get a normal external one then. thanks
