Default Should I upgrade to Audigy 2 from SB live! 5.1 just for Logitech Z-2300?

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 speakers very soon, because my old brandless 2.1 speakers is killing my ears (and they're not loud at all!). Since I am currently using Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 as my soundcard, I'm thinking, should I upgrade it to the Audigy 2 ZS just for the Logitech Z-2300. My friend the other day told me that the Audigy 2 ZS is too good of a soundcard for the Z-2300 2.1 speakers, is this true? Should I need to upgrade?

And also, I have another question, before I buy the Z-2300, I need to know if its got a tweeter or not, or whether it should have it or not, since it's already THX certified.

Thanks a lot to anyone who replies.

I've never used an Audigy, but I will say my Sound Blaster Live sounds better then the soundcard that came with my AN8.

I guess all in all, it just depends on the quality you want? Personally, I think I'd save my money and just get a SB Live.

I have the Logitech Z-5300 speakers, and all i use is a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 card, i'd say it sounds just fine. Although i've never tried the Audigy. Personally, the only reason i would get an audigy is for the Front Panel I/O board. But those can be quite expensive, i was looking at the audigy 2 with the front I/O for around $40-$80. I would get one there if your going to get one.

I wouldn't. I think an SB Live would be good for a 2.1 system.

There is no front panel for the sb live, im talking about the front panel that goes in the front of your computer, not the back.

I know exactly what you're talking about dude... Oh how I wish we were face to face so I could make a bet off this. Oh well ;P

Not the best pic, but you can clearly see LIVE on it.

And why would the Live only be good with a 2.1 system? I mean it was made for 5.1. Then again, I rarely used mine as 5.1 just because of how much of a pain it was to set up the speakers.

The reason why i said that was because the only sound blaster live! that i've seen are the ones without the front I/O. If you go to creative.com or soundblaster.com, they dont have it listed there. So they dont sell them in stores, so the onyl way he could get it would be on eBay. How much does that cost though?

So does the Audigy 2 ZS have any special features that benefits 2.1 speakers and are more superior over the Live! 5.1?

It offers 24-Bit sound and a bunch of other features. But i think unless your into audio editing, the Live! 5.1 would be just fine.
