A relative of mine is staying in the US for some time (Chicago if I remember correctly). Now then, since computers are a lot cheaper to buy there I decided to update my old machine by completely replacing it.
Now then, on to the problem; I was once interested in computers and kept track of all the new technologies that came out, but by the time that Pentium 3 came out I sort of stopped caring for the IT world and now I know little to nothing about modern day machines and I do mean NOTHING. With that in mind I need someone to help me customize a good rig. The budged is something around 1.500-1.700$, the laptop will mostly be used for family purposes (internet, documents, music and so on), however a game or two will also be played. Time is rather short as my relative will only be there for a week or so more and I am hoping for some quick and constructive advice here. Thank you in advance. |

Since, as I have stated, I am way back on what is good and what is not in the computer world nowadays. Can you sum up in a few words what should I expect from that computer (i.e. How long, more or less, does it’s battery last, How compatible is it with games, how relatively fast the machine is)
And thank you for the input |

HP as cohen suggested is good, if you don't mine it is heavy. (20.1", 15.3lbs)
For 15.4" Gaming, I suggest this ASUS M50Vm-A1 For 17" Gaming,Gateway P-173X FX/ P-6860FX could be another good choice Last edited by daisymtc; 07-16-2008 at 11:33 AM. |
