Default Thirsty laptop

Yup ! daughter spilled ice tea on the her new dell laptop. Just a little , but we heard it sizzle and die before we could shut it off. I disasembled it and dried with towel and hair dryer but no go. It spilled on the top right side portion of the key board. I'd love to fix it myself but not sure what to replace , so does anyone have a recommendation where I should get it fixed? Or is is probably junk? I live in Maine. Thanks doug

It may just be that you need a new mainboard, which can be replaced usually for a few hundred dollars. You can try returning it to Dell and see if it's covered under any sort of "accidental damage" warranty, but if not they may be able to give you a quote on how much it would be to fix.
