Default i was thinking of upgrading

i have a dell inspiron 6000 and i was thinking of installing vista on it. i downloaded the the upgrade adivisor and it said i would be able to install vista, but wouldn't be able to run aero. i only have 512 mb of ram and the stock video card. is it worth it? here's the manual.

It is fairly cheap to upgrade the ram, but you probably cannot upgrade the video card. If it has integrated video card, I would either stick with xp or dual boot xp and vista.

not all integrated video cards can not run vista. most laptops are on integrated video cards, like the one i have and it's running fine.

i looked at the specs of your laptop, i'd opt to stick with XP. is your processor a single, or duo core?

What I meant was, because he has integrated graphics AND somewhat old hardware, it would not be a good idea to use just xp.
