Default Which is the better card?

I was planning on getting a new video card for my system, hopefully one that will last a while. I don't have that big of a budget, I was planning on getting the Zotac 8800GT AMP edition for $150, but then I saw the ATI 3870x2. The ATI is a bit more expensive but according to http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=544&card2=549, the NVIDIA has a higher texture fill rate and the ATI has a higher pixel fill rate. Which one is better?

The two options are listed below.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121228

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814500006

Keep in mind the 8800 is overclocked to 700/2000 over stock 600/1800.

I would go with ATi. Simply because it's a X2. The 8800GT listed is a Zotac and from reviews, I don't think that's a really good brand at all.

But what's better? Higher pixel fill rate or higher texture fill rate?
The Zotac is wayyy cheaper and actually has one of the best reviews of the 8800's.

Yeah, best choice.

beats the X2 (remember, the X2 has CF issues, and other kinks, whereas the new X2 will sort all of that out)

And the X2 is only needed at high res.

I think HD3870 X2 is better

But I prefer single video card solution because some games are not well optimized for dual GPU

The only problem is the 8800GT is only $150. The difference between the 8800 and the 4870 is about 8 games lol. I would rather have 8 games. But again what's better? Higher pixel fill rate or higher texture fill rate? 8800GT has faster texture fill rate and 3870x2 has faster pixel fill rate. And I don't think I have $400 to spend on the 4870/ =/

The 4870 is only about $40 more than the 3870X2, so if your considering the X2, definatly spend the extra 20 for the 4870.
