i was told that putting a video card in the agp port in my computer might acctually be slower than whats in it right now? is this true?

adding a video card doesn't slow down a computer.

thats not what i meant, i meant that putting a video card in the agp slot will be slower than the graphics processer that is already in my computer

you'll have to disable the onboard video eventually once you installed the new video card.

Onboard graphics right now are NEVER faster than the ones you buy unless if they cost $10.
