Im in an exchange program so im gonna live in Alabama for a full year and my dad gave me his old laptop its an dell inspiron 700m I want to upgrade it before I go to have a decent lapto, can someone help to find the best hardware compatible with my lapto, i mean a new hdd a new ram or anything to make my laptop faster.

I never listed a webcam, lol. The last link is something that transfers the data between the hard drives, you need that, and you likely need the ram.

No. I believe what he is saying is that after you put the new hard drive into the computer, you plug the old hard drive into that "ugly external usb thing" and transfer all your data and files into the new hard drive. Then you can unplug the old hard drive and not have to use it again.
