solder is like the "glue" it bonds the two components together. i personaly like the thin solder just because it is easy to put a small amout on

Well i would go with the brass brad i can never get thoughs suckers to work well.

Also one last tip that took me a while to learn. Try not to solder the solder gun but heat the component up with the gun and get the solder next to it... that is hard to do and it is NOT a bad thing to touch the gun, it just gets less solder sticking to the gun

Yeah, i have both.... depends on the job, depends on what i use.....
