Question E8400 Overclocked, check it.

Buddy is working with an E8400 in an air cooled system and has it overclocked from 3.00Ghz to 3.6. He says he is idoling at 45C and peaking under load at 60. How good/nice are these temps for air cooled overclocking?

Thanks

The load temp is getting up there, I would really watch it and make sure it doesn't get above 65C when stress testing it.

60c is very high for a 45nm processor. any higher and it could be dangerous to it. i'd say try getting a new cooler for it, or re-applying the stock processor cooler. if he is in fact using stock cooling, check to make sure it isn't overvolted. that could raise temperatures a lot.
