Default CPU/GPU Overclock

Do you all think it would be worth it if I overclock my CPU and GPU?

The CPU would be using an OCZ Vendetta Cooler, link below, and I may reapply thermal compound, probably the tube of Coolermaster Thermal Compound I have laying around.

And the GPU would be using stock cooling.

How high should I clock both to notice a difference in games and such?

Thanks.

It would definitely be worth overclocking your CPU on your desktop. I reckon you should notice a nice difference at 2.4 Ghz or 2.5 Ghz .

Alright, my CPU got reset somehow, like after I upgraded to SP1 or something, it got reset back to 1.86.

Should I overclock the GPU, or not worth it?

Thanks.

OC your CPU definately! You could get to about 2.7Ghz on stock voltage if you didnt want to mess with the vCore.

Regarding the GPU, go for it! You can't break the card, you can't change the voltage unless you actually volt mod your card. The worst that'll happen when you're OC'ing is you'll get artifacts. In which case you just lower the clocks a little. I use Rivatuner to OC my GPU and it's dead easy! Just make sure you whack up the fan speed!

you'll probably want to slap on an aftermarket cooler as the 8800gt stock cooler isn't known for its cooling abilities .
