I'm buying a new laptop to replace my current desktop, which I've been using since '98 running windows xp professional. I will be using the laptop for schoolwork and some gaming. I need a graphics card that will be able to run the new games- nothing as big as crysis, but spore, TF2 and Diablo 3 would be nice. Blu-Ray is a plus, but not required. I don't plan on replacing it any time soon, so I'm looking for a good investment. The price range is between 1,000-1,300. I want to have an xp or vista os, so it will be easier to integrate all the software I currently have on my desktop. I'm not adverse to the idea of partitioning a mac in order to run it, but I don't want to sacrifice all my hard disk space. I'd like a ≈15'' screen without a glare that causes the display to become unusable. I'm going to take it to school with me, so I need either long battery life or at least a back up battery option. Above all I want it to run smoothly. I can't stand laptops that crawl along.
I appreciate everyone that helps me out. I know my way around a computer, but I am by no means an expert. Thanks for any tips or advice! |
