Default Out of range

Hi everyone,

My grandma just tok over one fo my old computers. It is a older Compaq, but still in good shape. Anyways she went out and bought a 19 inch Soyo LCD monitor for it. Today I went and hooked everything up and got the message " OUT OF RANGE". So I went back to my last known configuration which was the 17 inch crt. Pluged that in and wa-la it works. So I try the 19 inch again same deal. Well finally I put the 17 back on, and went to display and turned all the settings down, low res, and everything. Pluged the LCD back in and it works. Why is this?

I did bring the 19 inch to my house and pluged it into my computer which runs on 1680x1050 and it worked fine.

Any ideas?

It could be that her graphics card doesn't support the high resolution for the 19 inch monitor.
