Default LAN connection problems

i am using a CAT-5 cable.. to get internet on my laptop... it says i need to renew my ip address.. how do i do so?

im new to this site..

in run (Start > Run) type ipconfig/new (i think)

ipconfig /renew

you can check .
from the command line.
ipconfig/?
