Hello,
I have an audigy 2 zs soundcard, and cambridge soundworks DTT3500 digital speakers. Everything has worked fine until about the last month. My decoder for the speakers (also the amp for the speakers) has started to malfunction, and now is having audio problems. The speakers will crackle, and sometimes hum/whine when I turn it on. There is nothing around the system, nor is it the result of any feedback, or a bad input - it occurs no matter where I place the box, the speakers, and whether there are or aren't inputs. SO, basically, I believe my decoder is fried. So now I have an audigy 2, 5.1 speakers, and no way to connect the two. My question is, what alternatives do I have for setting up my current system either directly to the soundcard (with all speakers / sub still being used), or through a new decoder/amp box. I searched the internet but couldnt' find anything on decoders/amps like the one I have, but I could just be searching for the wrong thing. Will the audigy even have any power to give the speakers? I think probably not, although I am not sure. Anyway, any suggestions on how to set up my current system with either hte purchase of a new decoder/amp box, or a way to set everything up directly to the soundcard would be excellent. Thanks for your help, Lance |
